Hoover Dam
Right on cue my annual New Year cold has come around. This has meant that I couldn’t go out on my run yesterday but hopefully I’ll be able to out for a long run tomorrow.
The other annual event in the Floyd calendar is submission to the RA for my annual rejection from the Summer Exhibition. I tried to get to my studio this week but felt lousy plus it’s been since November. I finally got to my studio today to continue one of my irregular clean ups and work on some pantings.
I’ve already finished the two paintings which are going to get rejected, one is ‘majestic’ the other is ‘Hoover Dam’ which I’ve been working on for the last few months, and ‘finished’ just before Christmas. I say ‘finished’ because it came to a point where anything else I was going to do was going to detract from the painting and I was happy(ish) with it. I’m going to do another version. I also intend to submit to the Salon des Refuses, I’m ready to make the trek to The Smoke again.
I start a new contract on Monday in Taffs Wells where I can once again cycle along the Taff Trail to work which will be an absolute joy.
